The Dorchester Chicken Coop features a wooden sleeping area and a beautiful ark-shaped run. The overall shape and the materials it’s made from give it a luxurious and refined look that is fitting for even the most upscale gardens.
Its approximate dimensions are 82cm(W)x 208cm(D)x 103cm(H).
The refined looks of the Dorchester only complement its functionality, which has been the top-most priority when designing it. The ark-shaped run allows for the indoor area to be lifted off the ground, which ensures that air can circulate around the coop, prevents from flooding, and keeps rats and mice away.
The internal space, which includes a nesting area with two compartments and two roosting perches, make it suitable for 2 medium sized birds or up to 3-4 small-sized birds like Bantams. Please acknowledge that different species have different living requirements and these numbers are only rough approximations that are based on our own experience and that of customers who are using the coop.
The external run area is around 1.7 m2 (18.3 square feet) and features two roosting perches lifted at the height level of the internal door.
The door to the internal living area can be closed from the outside with a special push lever. Despite the presence of the enclosed run area, we advise you to always lock up your birds at night to keep them safe from foxes and other predators.
Hygiene is of huge importance for the health of your birds, so we’ve made the Dorchester Chicken Coop easy to clean. The roof of the main living area opens up and so does the roof over the nesting area, providing you with full access to the internal parts of the coop for your convenience. The two roosting perches inside are removable as well and beneath them there is a pull-out tray lined with galvanized metal.
The Dorchester Chicken Coop is solidly built and is made to last. The main living area is made from environmentally friendly, hard-wearing wood, that has quality tongue and groove joints. We’ve also supplied this coop with rust-proof locks, handles, and pull-out tray.
Your coop is flat-packed and should reach you in great shape with no transport defects (always check the package for damage before accepting it). Please note that the Dorchester Chicken Coop comes in two packages which may be delivered separately. The packages include clear, easy to follow assembly instructions.
